Salam and Hello to you all!
Alhamdulillah for yet another Friday...I love Fridays!
Today is all about one of my favourite reads; which is:
"DON'T BE SAD" by "Aaidh Ibn Abdullah al Qarni.
This book will always be evergreen for me, simply because it transports me to a happy space as soon as I begin to plip the pages.
Just as the name implies, it is a piece of gentle advice to the readers - humanity at large - not to be troubled or bothered by the travails and troubles of life; in the form of people, events or circumstances.
Some of my personal favourite chapters are:
- Verily, with hardship, there is relief (Quran 94:6).
- Repel boredom with work.
- Today is all you have (Quran 7:144).
- Contemplate and be thankful! (Quran 14:34), (Quran 55:13).
- Why grieve when you have the 6 ingredients?
- Do not let calamity shake you.
...and honestly, the book is packed with so many gems, and especially with the whole global shutdown, a lot of people are going through stress of varying degrees. It is important that we anchor ourselves to something bigger and greater than we are, for strength, stability, and coherence.
Being a Muslim, we ever turn to Allah and RasulAllah (Prophet Muhammad) for succor in the Quran and hadiths (sayings and doings of Prophet Muhammad, S.A.W.).
I pray that where ever you may be, whatever your situation is, that you get the relief, tranquility, peace, and calm you deserve.
Just don't be sad!
